'The Biggest Loser: Families' Recap - - The Sixth Elimination

Episode Air Date: October 22, 2008.

From

The Black team arrives back at the house, and Amy sees that her mom, Shellay, was the last eliminated player. Amy vows to make sure to make her mother proud while she’s still on the ranch. The next morning, Jillian finds out Shellay is gone. Jillian says they need to get more competitive. She doesn’t want to make it about winning, but she needs them to step it up. The ladies are all in agreement. The one male member, Phil, says he understands he has to focus on himself and his team.

The Blue team meets Bob at a gym, where he is hanging from a harness. Jillian takes her team goes old-shool with Jillian. They hangout outside over concrete. As Bob’s team balances circus style, the Black team takes advantage of the heat and gravity and climb up 35’ up, and leap off. Jillian then makes Michelle and Renee walk toward each other on a log 35’ up. Next Bob has a padded assailant class. Basically, he gets his butt whipped.

Later, everyone goes back to the doctor for updates on their medical progress. Thankfully, everyone gets good news. The best news is everyone is prolonging their life expectancy.

THE CHALLENGE

Back to Universal Studios. There are two giant rings over water. Allison tells them that they will be balancing over the water as a team, walking the beams. The prize for the winning team is videos from home. After just a few moments, Brady is the only member of the Blue team that isn’t in the water. As Phil finishes his first lap, he tells the ladies to start on their laps. Brady falls and the Blue team is out without one lap finished. They cannot try again until the Black team is in the water. The Black team did a good job, with Phil and Renee holding on for 16 laps. Then it was up to Renee. She completed the 25 laps for the Black team. For Renee it was bittersweet since she’s older than everyone on her team. They win the videos from home. Vicky tells Allison that she didn’t even want the reward, because others wanted the prize more than she did. She apparently didn’t to see her kids again so soon.

The next morning Bob learns that his team lost the challenge. Bob doesn’t understand Vicky not giving her best because she didn’t want the prize. Vicky isn’t feeling it. She just wants to win. Bob tells them that going forward they need to put 100% in.

Michelle gets to see her video, and realizes that her family is actually on a live feed. Her dad gives her a pep talk. Again. Everyone is surprised with live feeds. Jerry tells Colleen that he is off his medications and doing much better. Her boyfriend cries. Colleen cries. Jerry cries. Renee sees her husband and dog.

LAST CHANCE WORKOUT

Bob and Jillian put the teams through the wringer. Jillian would like to see some puking. Bob pushes Brady on the leg press with 670 lbs. Jillian is unusually tough on Phil, and he tells her “no”, which means he has to either throw up or get on the treadmill. He goes outside and throws up. As Jillian pushes the rest of the team, she yells for Phil to come back into the gym. Phil is watching Amy push 450 lbs with her legs, and he comments that she was making sounds she hadn’t made since giving birth. Later, Vicky and Brady visit Heba and tell her that they came across Phil and he told them that they should get rid of Heba. Heba is all for game play, but she’s upset about the personal attacks, since he took some personal jabs at her.

WEIGH IN

Allison starts with Renee since she won the challenge for the Black team. She’s lost 7 lbs. Michelle lost 7 also. Like mother, like daughter. Colleen loses 8 lbs., and Phil is the last member of the Black team to weigh in. He’s lost 7 lbs. He feels that he’s the one to leave if the Black team goes to elimination. Then it’s the Blue team’s turn. Amy #2 has lost 6 lbs. Heba lost 5 lbs. Bob is worried since they need another 30 or so. Vicky steps up and she’s lost 8 lbs. Amy #1 is next. She knows she either needs to be the Biggest Loser of the Week or hope her team wins the weigh-in because she is the obvious target to be sent home. She’s lost 2 lbs. Amy is upset that she let the team down. She was worried about Bob’s reaction, and he was equally worried about her emotions. Allison does her best to look sympathetic. Her whole teams hugs her at the bottom of the scale, and Phil steps across the Black/Blue line to hug his wife. Brady steps up, and he’s lost 3 lbs. Bob isn’t the only one surprised. Bob wonders if there is a conspiracy since Vicky is Biggest Loser of the Week and Brady only lost 3 lbs. Hmm…I hadn’t thought of that.

Back in the room when Amy #1 tries to plead her case, Heba goes off on her about Phil’s actions. Vicky interviews that there is an alliance between her and Heba and their husbands, and has been all along. At the elimination table, as predicted, it’s Amy that is sent home.
