Celebrity Apprentice Recap - - Episode Eleven

From Katie Lee

The Greatest Moment of His Life?

Piers Morgan was still gloating about Omarosa’s ouster and he’s approaching hyperbole levels. He mentioned meeting Nelson Mandela and Her Majesty, The Queen as great moments in his life but they just couldn’t compare to his decimation of Omarosa. Or how putting him up against Omarosa was ‘like pitting a rat against a dragon.’ He finally noted that in terms of the greatest moments of his life, ‘on the one hand, there was ‘the birth of my three children,’ and then on the other, his victory over Omarosa.

Random Guest

Don, Jr. is once again MIA and to fill in for him, Trump introduced Daryl Roth, the producer of the Broadway show, ‘Curtains.’ But since this week’s task had nothing to do with Broadway, her presence seemed rather random.

A Little Wit

After his over-the-top gloating, Piers had calmed down significantly and when Trump questioned him on how he felt about Omarosa’s ouster, he remarked dryly that ‘it was a sad day for me [and] a sad day for America,’ but that both he and America would persevere. Trump was amused by this, noting that Piers ‘has a little wit’ about him.

Make Me a Sandwich!

This week’s task required the teams to create a flatbread sandwich for Quizno’s and then sell those sandwiches. Trump decreed that they were not allowed to use their Rolodexes, and that each team only had 2 hours to prep, and then 2 hours to sell their sandwiches. Finally, the sandwiches would sell at $2 each, so it wasn’t about pricing or net profits, but pure sales and marketing ability.

A Cowboy versus The Champ

Trace Adkins became Empresario’s PM, and decided their sandwich would be a ‘Prime Rib Cowboy Club’ consisting of prime rib, sweet onions, mozzarella, bacon and spicy mayo. Meanwhile, Lennox Lewis took on the PM mantle for Hydra and decided to go with ‘The Champ’ as their sandwich, which was basically just changing the cheese in the classic Quizno’s turkey and cheese sandwich (they switched to cheddar cheese for ‘The Champ’).

Prescient?

Both Trace and Stephen Baldwin noted that they knew Hydra would go with a marketing plan that featured Lennox Lewis and his status as the former heavyweight champion of the world. Sure enough. . .

Excuses or Ambition?

Carol Alt was in charge of the flyers for Team Hydra, but seemed to run into some problems with the printers. Because this was a time-sensitive task, any delay could have spelled disaster. As she tried to untangle the problems with the printers, Piers and Lennox noted that they were hearing more excuses than solutions from her. Piers noted that perhaps Carol was just laying the groundwork for the Boardroom, noting that he could see the ambition radiating from her eyes. Whether it was excuses or ambition, in the end, the flyers made it to Team Hydra just in time.

Crazy People

Piers and Stephen took to the pavement for their respective teams, handing out flyers and trying to corral as many New Yorkers as possible into their Quizno’s. Both were very, very hyper, and Stephen noted that people probably thought he was crazy.

Winning Numbers

Both teams seemed relatively confident about their performance and in the Boardroom, Trump revealed that Empresario had sold 253 sandwiches to Hydra’s 313. Lennox Lewis, as winning PM, received another $20,000 for his charity, The Muhammad Ali Center.

More Than a Pretty Face

Carol was more than a little happy about being the last woman standing and one of the final four on The Celebrity Apprentice, noting that she had beaten out some very successful women and men to get there.

A Disease

Trump noted that Empresario was not faring well, and Trace agreed, saying, ‘Empresario is a disease.’ Everyone in the Boardroom agreed that the name was awful, and that the team had taken quite the beating during the course of the show. Neither Stephen nor Trace really had a reason as to why they were beaten, although Stephen did note that they were down one person compared to Hydra (although that didn’t seem to be much of a factor in Hydra’s winning). Ivanka suggested that their sandwich might have been an issue, noting that while the sandwich was good, a simple turkey-and-cheese sandwich like Hydra’s would have had more appeal across the board.

Favored Celebrity

While waiting for Trump to make his decision, Stephen told Trace that ‘I think they like you better than me.’ While it wasn’t a contentious Boardroom, in part because neither Trace nor Stephen wanted to bad-mouth the other, it was clear that Trump and Co. were honing in on Stephen more so we do have to agree with his assessment.

Innuendos

Stephen grew more restless as they waited, and Trace finally told him to stop pacing. Stephen replied that he had ‘ants in his pants.’ Trace retorted that it was more like, ‘you have crabs or something’ to which Stephen quipped, ‘Those days are over.’

The Moneymaker

Back in the Boardroom, Trump noted that this was a very hard decision since he ‘loves’ both Trace and Stephen. Trump, tough and savvy businessman that he is, finally decided to ask his daughter who she’d fire. Ivanka, stepping up where her father refused to, noted that she would fire Stephen because in recent tasks, he had failed to bring in much, if any, money. She pointed out that they were going into the final tasks, and thus, the ability to make money (especially for charity) would be important. Given that, Trace had a much better track record than Stephen. Trump, agreeing with Ivanka, fired Stephen.

Making a Long Day Longer

Trace barely had time to regroup with Lennox, Piers and Carol when Trump called the final 4 back into the Boardroom and after congratulating them for making it that far, said that before the night was over, 2 more would be fired. As the final 4 look on in surprise, wondering what was about to be unleashed on them, we fade to black. Tune in next week!
