Amateur Hour
Hydra was forced to decorate their Airstream with large banners and tape. The presentation, in Piers' words, was 'amateur hour' and Jim Cramer, upon inspection, declared that half the trailer looked like a dumpster.
The Better Baldwin
30 Rock's star, Alec Baldwin, paid his brother Stephen a visit and also fattened up Hydra's coffers by buying several printers at $1000 a pop. Piers took the opportunity to compare the two Baldwins, stating that 'one is a massive TV star and the other is. . .[clicks tongue]' Ouch.
Presentation versus Corporate Message
It came down to what was more important - the presentation of the product, or the corporate message of that product. While Empresario's presentation was significantly better than Hydra's, Hydra won because they managed to properly convey Kodak's message about their 'revolutionary' ink system.
Another 20 Grand for the Kids
Tito Ortiz, as winning PM, was given $20,000 to donate to his favorite charity - St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
I'm Right, You're Wrong!
Gene Simmons was unapologetic about Empresario's loss, declaring that Kodak was wrong in their decision. He stated that he had no regrets or doubts about any of his decisions. He even went so far as to state that the Kodak executives didn't understand their own brand! Even when pressed hard by Jim Cramer, Ivanka and Trump, Gene remained resolute in his stance that Empresario had done nothing wrong and shouldn't have lost.
Say What?!
There were several 'what the hell?' moments during the Boardroom. First was when Trump asked Carol who she would fire and she volunteered herself, and Nely. The second was when Trump asked Nely who she would fire and she named Jennie Finch, who was pretty much a non-factor on this task. The biggest what the hell? moment though was when Trump asked Gene who he was taking back to the Boardroom with him and he chose Omarosa. When Trump expressed surprise at this, Gene didn't really offer any concrete explanation for his decision, and further, resisted picking a second candidate. Trump, however, pushed Gene to select a second candidate and did everything but write out, 'Pick Nely because I'll fire her in a New York second!' Once again, a defiant Gene provided yet another 'what the hell?' moment and picked Jennie Finch.
KISS Off!
Trump, Jim Cramer and Ivanka are stunned by Gene's decision, with Jim Cramer calling the move, 'insolent.' Trump, left with no choice, because as he put it, neither Omarosa nor Jennie had 'done anything wrong,' had to fire Gene Simmons. Defiant to the end, Gene Simmons goes riding off into the night still secure in his belief that he had been right all along.
