Mark Ballas and 'Dancing with the Stars':
Mark Ballas joined Dancing with the Stars during the show's fifth season. He has been partnered with celebrity contestants Sabrina Bryant (who he formed a love connection with), Kristi Yamaguchi, and Kim Kardashian. Mark and Kristi were the winners of Dancing With the Stars 6 title.
Before 'Dancing with the Stars':
Mark, who was born in Houston, Texas, spent much of his childhood studying at the Italia Conti Academy of Dramatic Arts. He had a close friendship with fellow Dancing With the Stars pros Julianne and Derek Hough, who also studied at the Academy. In fact, Mark's dancing partner in dance competitions was Julianne Hough. Mark's dancing titles as a young man included The British Juvenile Ballroom champion and Latin American Dance champion.
His Other Passion:
Mark, who is also an aspiring rock star, formed the band Almost Amy with Derek Hough. On his website, Mark says his true passion is his music.
