Did you guys know that the editors would turn the show into a comedy, or were you guys serious about everything that was going on?
We were so serious! We didn’t think it was going to going to be a comedy. We thought it was something new they were bringing to the table for Oxygen. We were focused on who was going to be the next Fabio. We knew how much success he had being Fabio, being the sexiest man on the planet. We had the great opportunity. Why not us get the cover of [romance novels]? So we took advantage of the honor to be a part of that.
Have you done your first Harlequin cover shoot yet?
No, I haven’t. I’m waiting! I have a thirteen or twelve cover contract coming to me. I’m ready to work. I’m ready when they’re ready…And ever since the show has been done I have dedicated myself to being on that treadmill. I’ve been wanting to get a little tighter because I felt like I had a gut on that television show. I was down there enjoying life and eating all that good food...
Have you ever read a romance novel?
I have read a romance novel, but I haven’t gotten into them enough to read them repeatedly.
What’s the most important thing you learned from the Romance Academy?
The most important thing I learned is that you should show a woman romance all the time. It doesn’t have to be anything special. Just putting a smile on her face, from opening doors to making bubble baths when she gets home from work, to listening to her conversations whether she’s doing good or bad.
What are your career goals right now?
I’ve been in acting school for the past two and a half years and I love it. I’ve been singing with my brother [who is a gospel singer]. We come up with that family background. It was great just to be around Gene Simmons, who embraced me and told me to take it serious. I really enjoy acting and entertaining...there’s no stopping me right now. I'm a very hard worker so it’s not a problem me trying to get my acting career going and taking it to next level. If anything comes my way, God is good.
