Description
Guide Review - Review of VH1's Celeb Talent Competition "But Can They Sing?"This show is for everyone who ever sang into their hairbrush in front of the bathroom mirror. Nine pop star wannabes (who happen to be famous for other talents) get to live out their musical dreams on stage, in front of a national audience. But can they sing? The short answer is no. The stars' performances range from horrible to okay. But if you remember that this isn't American Idol, it is easy to forgive the wobbly voice of ex-model Kim Alexis or the weak rapping skills of reality star Carmine Gotti. Ex-boxer Larry Holmes may even charm you with his soulful sounds. But watch out for actress Bai Ling. On the first episode of "But Can They Sing?", the Chinese star showed her wild side as she sang (or should I say croaked) Madonna's "Like a Virgin" while crawling seductively around the stage. She ended the performance by ripping off her skirt. Hilarious! |
