Masterchef is a reality TV competition to find the best home cooks in America.

Masterchef airs Tuesdays at 9 pm ET/PT beginning July 27, 2010 on Fox. The show moves to Wednesday nights at 8:00 pm beginning August 18, 2010,
How It Works:
50 contestants are chosen during a nationwide search for the best amateur chefs. In the first episode, the Masterchef wannabes prepare their signature dishes for a panel of judges. These culinary experts are judging the contestants based on their passion, creativity, and skill. Each week, the pool of hopefuls is whittled down until only the Top 14 remain. At this stage of the competition, the episodes are expanded to two hours as the competition heats up.
The 'Masterchef' Judges:
Hell's Kitchen star Gordon Ramsay; restaurateur/wine maker Joe Bastianich; and America's youngest four-star chef Graham Elliot.
