All About 'Nashville Star':
Nashville Star is the reality TV search for a country music star.
Finalists are selected to compete on Nashville Star after nationwide auditions. These singers go on to perform for TV viewers each week. After the weekly Nashville Star performance show, viewers vote for their favorite contestants. The singer who receives the least amount of votes is eliminated the following week. The singer who is left standing at the end of the competition is crowned the new Nashville Star and wins a recording contract.

Nashville Star has had several hosts in five seasons -- TV host Nancy O'Donnell hosted seasons one and two. Country singer LeAnn Rimes hosted season three. Country music stars Wynonna Judd and Cowboy Troy hosted season four. Pop star Jewel and Cowboy Troy hosted season five. And Billy Ray Cyrus is the host of season six.
