How Does 'The Sing-Off' Work?:
Sixteen singing groups are selected by audition before The Sing-Off season airs. Each week the groups must compete in a new challenge (such as singing a medley of songs by one noteworthy musician) and judges determine which of the groups continue on. Viewers eventually get a chance to weigh in, voting for their favorites and determining the final winning group. The finale features the remaining competitors performing with the judges and guest artists like Sheryl Crow and Neil Diamond, before the winner is announced.

The winning group on The Sing-Off takes home a Sony Music recording contract and $100,000 cash prize.
