Prior to his acclaim on NBC/Bravos Queer Eye for the Straight Guy as the interior design specialist for the Fab Five, Thom Filicia garnered praise through his own interior design company in New York City, Thom Filicia, Inc. (TFI). TFI specializes in both residential and commercial projects, with a range of high-profile clients in the fashion, entertainment, media, real-estate development, and finance industries.
In addition to the honor of being named one of House Beautifuls Top 100 American Designers, Thom has been profiled or featured in an ever-growing list of publications. Thom provides key writing to the Queer Eye book The Fab Fives Guide to Looking Better, Cooking Better, Dressing Better, Behaving Better & Living Better and also contributes to the CD Whats That Sound?: Music from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
Thom has appeared in countless television programming including The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, MTVs 2003 Video Music Awards (presenter), Access Hollywood (as red-carpet host for the 2003 Emmy Awards), CNN with Anderson Cooper, NBCs comedy Good Morning Miami, E! News Daily, Barbara Walters Presents: The Top 10 Most Fascinating People of 2003, The Ellen Degeneres Show, VH1s Big in 2003 Awards (award recipient), and South Park.
Corporate America and Fortune 500 companies have also taken notice of Thom Filicias talents and marketability. Currently, Thom Filicia is the spokesperson for Pier 1 Imports and recently paired up with Olympus to design the tents at Bryant Park for New York Citys Fashion Week in February 2004. Other TFI highlights include a complete housing renovation for an Oprah viewer, as well as a table design for Elle Décors Dinner by Design at the 2004 DIFFA event. Over the years, Thom has completed work in metropolitan New York City, the Hamptons, Los Angeles, Miami, and Bermuda. Thom studied Interior Design at Syracuse Universitys School of Art and Design. Early on, Thom focused his creativity on high-end interiors, working at the most venerable firms in New York City. Having established a strong classical foundation, Thom is now exercising his personal aesthetic that is driven by a unique and innovative vision of classic simplicity. Raised in upstate New York, Thom maintains homes in Manhattan and the Hudson Valley.
