“I joined the County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team once, and I don’t think their application was near this long!” says Hilary Avalon after filling out her application for The Amazing Race 10.

We met Hilary and her teammate-to-be (hopefully), Jerome McIlvain, last week with the Amazing Race Ride-Along – The Beginning. This week we take a look at our friends as they fill out their Amazing Race 10 applications.

The Amazing Race 10 Application Form includes eight pages, three sections, and 58 questions in addition to asking for personal information such as name, address, phone, etc., and each teammate must fill out a separate form.

Jerome was surprised by how involved this initial step was, saying, “It seems like a lot of information for a preliminary step.” He figures that the long process must separate out people who are serious about wanting to get on, and if they are chosen to be further interviewed then the producers already have a lot of information to build on.

Both teammates thought some of the questions, such as “What do you think of foreigners?” and “What is your favorite topic of conversation at a dinner party?” were rather silly.

The two began filling out their forms separately but then came together to finish them. They both had trouble with the question “What is the biggest disappointment you have experienced from your teammate?”, though neither seemed to have trouble with the question, “What is your biggest pet peeve about your partner?”

Navigate to page two of this article to see a sampling of The Amazing Race 10 Application Form questions and Hilary and Jerome’s answers.

The next step for our dynamic duo is to make their video. Next week's article will focus on the video project.
