Premise :
A group of superstar wannabes get vocal coaching, image consulting, dance lessons and more while training with top experts at a Los Angeles music academy. Cameras capture all of the drama as these contestants work together and live together 24/7. Each week, these performers must perform live for America.

Elimination Process:
After each live performance show, viewers vote by phone, text message, or online. The contestant with the least number of votes is eliminated during a live show that airs the following night.

Prize:
A recording contract with a major record company.

Judges:
-- Record producer Kara DioGuardi, who has worked with stars including Christina Aguilera and Kelly Clarkson.

-- Former Motown Records president Andre Harrell, who helped to launch the careers of P. Diddy, Mary J. Blige, and many others.

-- Songwriter/vocal director/musician/record producer Mark Hudson, who has worked with acts including Ozzy Osbourne and Ringo Starr.

The One: Making A Music Star is based on a smash hit Spanish series called "Operacisn Triunfo."
