Growing Up:
As the only girl in a family of four children, Mary grew up playing basketball, football, and other sports. When it was time for college, she decided to major in physical education with a minor in modern dance.
Dance Career:
After leaving college, Mary became a dance instructor at a studio in Washington DC. It was during this time that she became interested in competitive ballroom dancing. She moved to California, where she opened a dance school and pursued dance titles. Her wins include the U.S. Open American Smooth and the U.S. Open American Nine Dance. These days, she trains junior and adult champions at her Champion Ballroom Academy in San Diego, Ca. She also brings her dance expertise to movies including Dance With Me.
Dance Background:
Nigel studied dance tap, jazz, and European folk dance as a child. He later performed with the dance troupe BBC Young Generation in the UK. Nigel eventually became a sought-after choreographer, choreographing for top dancers including Ben Vereen.
