Nigel Lythgoe
Before becoming the top judge on So You Think You Can Dance, former British dancer, Nigel Lythgoe, hosted Pop Idol and judged Popstars--two UK reality TV shows.
Lythgoe has judged SYTYCD since 2005.
Mary Murphy
Professional dancer and dance instructor Mary Murphy founded the Champion Ballroom Academy in San Diego, CA and has taught dance to numerous movie stars including Dennis Quaid, Mary Steenburgen and Donnie Wahlberg.
Guest Judges
Each season features several guest judges, including So You Think You Can Dance choreographers and other dance celebrities. Season Eight's guest judges are:
- Pussycat Dolls' creator Robin Antin
- Krumping King, Lil C
- Emmy-winning SYTYCD choreographer Tyce Diorio
- Ballroom dance champion and SYTYCD choreographer Toni Redpath
- Ballroom and Latin choreographer Jason Gilkison
Former guest judges include Debbie Allen, Toni Basil and Kenny Ortega.
Former Resident Judges
Hairspray director and dancer Adam Shankman judged So You Think You Can Dance from 2009 to 2010, while choreographer Mia Michaels served as a regular judge for the seventh season.
