Dr. Katz is the co-author of False Love and Other Romantic Illusions (Ticknor and Fields, 1988), Success Trap (Ticknor and Fields, 1989), and The Co-Dependency Conspiracy (Warner Books, 1991). His books have been serialized in Cosmopolitan, Glamour, and SELF magazines and have been translated into Chinese and German.
In addition to writing books, Dr. Katz conceived and co-produced a short film for adults and children involved in child abuse judicial hearings, which won an award for Distinguished Technical Communication. He has been a member of the Los Angeles Superior Courts Experts Panel since 1980 and has been appointed over eight hundred times as the court’s expert in juvenile, criminal, family law and civil court proceedings.
Dr. Katz has appeared on many national and local television and radio shows including OPRAH, 20/20, CBS THIS MORNING, THE OTHER HALF, EXTRA!, The Michael Jackson Show, and National Public Radio. He recently completed shooting 23 episodes of THE TEST for FX Television. PEOPLE MAGAZINE featured him and his work with incest victims and their families.
Dr. Katz lives with his wife Ilene Presant and their five children in Los Angeles.
