Macho, macho men
The men may have felt a little less secure in their alliances after last weeks tribal counsel shakeup that sent JT packing. As the show opens, they are up and moving. Whether hauling water, fishing, collecting crabs, or gathering wood for the fire, they were determined to prove their worth to the tribe. One survivor summarized it well by saying, Theyre so much more manly now that the top dog is gone.
While the boys work
The women are busy lounging on the shore as they compare armpit hair. Ewww, gross!
Yummy for the tummy
Its time for reward challenge, and this was one sure to tantalize the taste buds. Three pairs of two contestants from each tribe stood with their arms attached to rope connected to a hook. Every few minutes, opposing tribe members were able to attach 5 pound weights to the survivors of their choice. The last pair standing without dropping the weights won immunity for the tribe.
And the winner is
Down, down they go
we watch as Yul drops his weights, knocking himself and Jonathan out of the challenge. Rebecca and Stephanie are not far behind. Sundra and Candice were the next to falter. Finally Jessica and Ozzy check out as Raro wins the challenge. They win spices, wine, and fishing supplies.
Adios again
Raro gets the chance to send an opposing tribe member to Exile Island. They choose Jonathan again. We get to see him dig determinedly for the immunity idol only to deduce that someone has already found it.
No use crying over spilled octopus
When Adam spears an octopus and brings it back to camp, the tribe members pry it off his ankle as Cristina devises a plan to cook up some coconut octopus stew. Her recipe mostly includes ordering people around. One tribe member describes her as the new J.T. Its evident to viewers that Rebecca is grating on peoples already frayed nerves. When Rebecca and Jenny go to wash off their food for cooking, Jenny tells her that shes going back to camp. Oblivious, Rebecca allows the pot of octopus to wash into the water, spilling. She freaks out, yelling for help.
Adam is less than thrilled
Adam is a bit ticked off that the hard earned dinner has been spilled. Cristina responds by blaming Jenny. Needless to say, Jenny isnt a real happy camper with this type of response. The tribe begins to devise a plan to vote her out. It seems to be one they all agree on since Cristina has become a royal pain.
Exploring
Ozzy, Caoboi, and Jessica (Flicka) decide to get in the boat and explore a neighboring island for new resources. What did they find? Surprise, surprise! They find the opposing tribe of survivors at their camp. Lets just say they didnt receive the friendliest reception. One person actually said, What the hell are they doing here? as another person chimed in, and its the three that we hate. Caiboi makes an idiot of himself babbling about monkeys, dragons, and rats before actually mustering the nerve to ask the other tribe to go help them look for coconuts and theyll split their findings. He was regarded with a not on our island for a response. Then he goes so far as to ask the opposing tribe for some of their spices. After that, they were told to go back to their camp.
And the game changes
Nathan and Stephanie are talking. When Stephanie mentions how shed really like to eat some mashed potatoes, Nathan decides that its code for I want to go home. He begins to discuss this with his tribe mates. They seem to be divided on their opinions, some of them claiming that Stephanie isnt really ready to go home.
Survivors ready?
Its time for the immunity challenge. This was quite a challenge to say the least. Survivors had to build stepping poles. Two tribe members have to balance haphazardly as they climbed from pole to pole across the water. They then reached a platform. Two members of each tribe had to do this then the other tribe members had to swim toward a little wooden tower
a VERY NARROW tower. All tribe members had to have their bodies and feet above the top level of the tower to win immunity. This meant they had to cling to each other, try not to fall, and struggle with all their might to balance on this tiny deck with the weight of tribe members pressing to them at all sides. It was a close race, but Aitu won immunity proving that team unity really is powerful.
The tribe has spoken
In a surprising twist, the vote is unanimous as Stephanie is voted off. We can only hope she gets that big bowl of mashed potatoes to numb the pain.
