Did I Accidentally Take a Sleeping Pill?

I had to fight off yawns as I watched tonight’s episode of Survivor. It wasn’t nearly as interesting as the premiere, but there were a few noteworthy highlights.

Anybody Got a Match?

The African-American tribe struggled to start their fire. When viewers were ready to finally give up hope, were elated that they finally get their fire going! Way to go, guys!

Welcome Back Jonathan

Jonathan makes it back from Exile Island. Everyone greets him warmly. It isn’t long before he starts to order other tribe members around. Not everyone likes this. Adam claims that Jonathan’s plans for building a bamboo floor to their shelter are a waste of time and energy.

Speaking of Wasting Time and Energy

Aitu tribe members, encouraged by Ozzy concoct a plan to throw the challenge, therefore being able to vote Billy out. Billy barely lifts a finger to help the tribe with any chores and is constantly lying around sleeping or just relaxing.

What’s For Dinner?

All I can say is that if I have to go eat with one of the tribes, I’m headed straight for the Latin group. They had crabs! That’s something this Louisiana girl can appreciate.

Quote of the Night

“Let’s pimp our palace,” one survivor says about working on the shelter.

Not Again, Caoboi

Think last week’s alternative medicinal cure for a teammate’s aching head was strange? What’s even stranger is that he did the same thing again this week. By the end of the series, will all the tribe members bear red marks on their heads? One can only wonder…

The Challenge

The survivors have to make their way through an obstacle course that ends with answering trivia questions about a story they’ve heard. The reward is immunity and tarps. We are not at all surprised with the fact that Aitu comes in last place. They’re headed for tribal counsel.

A Punishment or a Reward?

When Yul is sent to Exile Island, he’s a bit bummed. His stay has a happy ending when he actually manages to find the island’s hidden immunity necklace. Congrats, Yul!

Tribal Counsel

Billy is voted out. We’re not at all surprised by this. What is surprising is the fact that he claims he found love at first sight with Candace, another survivor. He thinks they shared a special moment. Viewers will have to wonder what might have been because Billy’s torch was put out, and he’s headed home.
