BROKEN TRUSTS

Over at Airai, Joel and Mikey B butt heads. Mikey B is still salty because Joel and the others had voted Mary off. Mikey B feels like he needs to pretend that he’s in Joel’s corner to gain his trust. Only, that’s not happening, because Joel’s no fool and can see right through Mikey B, who needs to go home because typing Mikey B is just as frustrating as typing Johnny Fairplay over and over. The Malakal tribe voted off Yau-Man last week, which is still questionable. In fact, they are starting to think about the influence they let Ciria have at the tribal council. Ciria argues with everyone. Jonathan is pissed that she broke their alliance and voted against his wishes. Ciria counters that they don’t trust each other and need to leave it at that.

THE NEXT DAY…

The Airai tribe is hungry. They don’t know who the favs voted off, but their money is on either Eliza or Yau-Man. Jason catches an eel and they cook and eat it. Or it’s sushi, I don’t know, but they eat it. First white eel I’ve ever seen, but when you’re hungry, who questions? Besides, I’ve only seen two eels. One at the sushi bar that was brown, and the other in National Geographic. Natalie interviews that Chet, seen lazing around, is the weakest link and needs to go home. Everyone agrees that he needs to pull his weight, but he just says his mind is in the game even though his body isn’t, which isn’t his choice. I have no clue what that meant. He is just horrible for morale, and Mikey B says he needs to be GONE. Over at Malakal, James checks on Eliza, who is shivering and sick. She feels warm (is it the sun, James?) and he offers to get her some water or a coconut. Awwww. James and Ozzy decide aloud that Eliza should have been voted off instead of Yau-Man. James says that folding to Ciria’s request was stupid, and they can’t let it happen again. Eliza reminds James that she can hear him talking, and he says, “I know you’re sitting right there. You’re about to die”. Ouch! She says she’ll be fine at the challenge. She gets mad, and James comments that she is “Sick and has an attitude”, and laughs it off.

THE CHALLENGE

The fans find out that Yau-Man is gone. For some reason, even though they discussed this, they seem surprised. For the challenge, four members from each team must swim to a floating platform, dive down to a cage containing tribal colored coconuts, grab their ten, put them in a bin, and then have the four remaining members on shore solve the one-word puzzle from the letters on the coconuts. To even out the teams, Airai sits out Chet, the weakest link. As the game begins, Ozzy has a great strategy; he goes under on his turn and pushes all of the purple coconuts to the front for easy access. The game is pretty much neck and neck, but when the Favs get all of their coconuts and James sees that the word is TRIUMPHANT, Malakal wins. He has muscles and he can spell. How sexy is that? Damn! Their prize? Three egg-laying hens and one rooster. Also they send Ozzy and Kathy to Exile Island.

EXILE ISLAND

Back at camp, Airai morale hits a new low. Erik comments that he knows Kathy is weak, and is probably curled up in a fetal position crying instead of looking for the idol. Actually, Kathy is talking Ozzy’s ear off about how much she’s loved meeting the Malakal tribe members and learning from them. Ozzy catches on to Kathy’s impending laziness, and tells her he is going to look for food before the sun goes down. All she has to do is start a fire. Oz heads out to find clues, which eventually lead him to the idol. He puts the idol in his hat, and fashions a fake idol to put in it’s place. He’s almost caught when Kathy walks up asking if he found any clams, but he’s able to actually pull it off. Very Yau-Man of you, Ozzy…

EATING GOOD IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Over at Malakal, Ciria names one of the chickens Charlie. Eliza and Parvati go for a walk to discuss their distrust of Jonathan, but he follows them the whole time, eavesdropping. Parvati seems to lend a sympathetic ear to Eliza, but she later interviews that Eliza is basically trying to throw Jonathan under the bus.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE

Okay, Ozzy and Kathy return. Of course, Ozzy says he tried to find the idol, but couldn’t. Guess we’ll find out later if he shares the news with Amanda. For the immunity challenge, six members of each tribe have to race to a large sliding hub, unlock themselves, maneuver through the woods to pick up necklaces and then place the necklaces in another word puzzle to find the winning phrase. Not able to sit out Chet again, the fans sit out Tracy this time. Basically, Malakal wipes it with this challenge and they win immunity with the phrase “Tribe Stays In Tact,” which we all saw before the challenge when Jeff Probst was explaining it…

WHO LEAVES?

Mikey B is upset that they lost again. He says, again, that he will pretend to be Joel’s pal to get Chet voted out. Joel, of course, doesn’t care what Mikey B thinks. Joel wants Kathy gone. Stacy, Kathy and Chet know they are the next three on the block, so they approach Joel with a plan to lose Mikey B instead of Chet, which would change the dynamic of the game. After they are gone, they tell Joel, with the nice muscles, he won’t have them to swing the votes. Joel takes it into consideration.

TRIBAL COUNCIL

Chet pleads his case that he’s stronger mentally than he is physically. Jason feels physical strength is what they need. Mikey B says that Chet is weak and brings the team down. Stacy points out that they have lost challenges without she, Chet or Kathy participating. Jason votes for Chet, commenting, “Please leave the island,” but in the end, Mikey B (yes!) is voted off. Next week, drop the bandanas baby! The teams are breaking up!
