Survivor: Micronesia Recap - - Episode Nine

From Angela Williams

Apr 11 2008
Over at Malakal, Ozzy says that Tracy would not have left had she not lied. Erik is just shocked that he is still around. For the first time, the Favorites voted to keep a Fan around. At the Ariai camp, the players speculate on who was voted off, thinking it was probably Erik.

THE MERGE

A tree mail arrives for each tribe telling them to pack up everything and meet with Jeff. They correctly assume that the merge will be immediate. Erik tells Ozzy the he will remain loyal to him. Ozzy agrees to keep an alliance with Erik. Parvoti wonders how her two alliances will affect her. The first is with James, Ozzy and Amanda. The second is with Natalie, Alexis and Amanda.

They meet with Jeff, and sure enough the tribes merge. The ugly individual immunity necklace is brought back. They are given time to eat, drink and be merry. Jeff tells them to pick a tribe name and decide which beach they will live on. Of course, they pick the Malakal beach. As James eats a bowl of bat, Erik tells them that Dabu means “good” in Micronesia. They all agree that’s a nice new tribe name. Then Erik interviews that he made it up. He has no clue how to say “good” in Micronesian.

GREEN EYED MONSTER EMERGES…

That night, Alexis lays her head on Ozzy’s chest as they discuss the game. Amanda is not pleased at all since Ozzy is her man. Cirie sees the opening to start putting another bug in Amanda’s ear about Ozzy.

A TRIBE MERGED, OR A TRIBE DIVIDED?

Jason decides he wants to align with Ozzy, but that’s just for appearances. He says he’ll prove himself. Ozzy interviews that Jason probably has the fake immunity idol he left on Exile Island. Jason hides his “idol” in a rock. Eliza tries to pump Parvoti for information but Parvoti refuses to commit one way or the other. Parvoti and Amanda bond since they were friends from the beginning, and Parvoti stares at them from a distance. Parvoti admits to Amanda that she put herself and Amanda in an alliance with Alexis and Eliza, but Amanda is not comfortable with that. She laughs to her face, but she is now leery of Parvoti’s motives.

THE CHALLENGE

The players will have to stand under a grate in water. As the tide rises, they have to remain under the grate as long as they can as their breathing space decreases. The winner will receive immunity. The ladies all give up pretty quickly. James, Ozzy and Jason fight til the finish, with Jason prevailing. Eliza is happy because she knows that Jason will give her the immunity idol at tribal council since he’ll be wearing the necklace.

WHO IS LEAVING FIRST?

Cirie, Parvoti and Amanda talk. They decide Eliza needs to go. Eliza lurks in the bushes while they talk about her. Jason and Eliza decide Ozzy needs to go. Alexis is still hanging a little too close to Ozzy, and of course, Amanda wants her gone. Jason gives the “idol” to Eliza, but she tells him it’s not the idol. He doesn’t believe her and tells her to play it if she needs to. She says that Ozzy made that idol and probably has the real one. Jason repeats that he thinks it’s the idol. Eliza decides to take it since she’ll be voted out anyhow.

TRIBAL COUNCIL

Jeff asks the usual questions about everyone’s motives and how they are adjusting to the merge. Alexis says that Eliza played the game well. Eliza says she said “played” as if she’s already been voted off. Alexis apologizes. Ozzy and James say they will take someone everyone hates to the end of the game. Parvoti calls out Eliza’s lies. In the end, Eliza pulls out the fake idol. Jeff throws it in the fire since it isn’t real. Ozzy, James and even Jason laugh. Eliza’s fire is extinguished and she is the first person assigned to the Survivor jury.
