Back to Casablanca
Teams must drive through the mountains to get back to Casablanca (the city that they flew to Morocco from), and find the clue marker in a market square.
Grab-A-Local
Beauty queens, Dustin/Kandice, who are 'marked for elimination', continue their trend of seeking out locals to help them find the destinations and clue markers. They luck out big time with a local who not only helps them find their clue, but sticks around while they complete the Roadblock and helps them find their way after that. With this local's generous help, Dustin/Kandice manage to overtake single moms, Lyn/Karlyn and dating couple, Rob/Kimberly, who struggle to locate the clue marker.
Camel Kebobs
The Roadblock requires racers to grind a pound of camel meat, season it, have it grilled and then consume the entire thing. When Karlyn tells Lyn that she could be eating faster, the two friends begin to argue, with Lyn finally telling Karlyn to 'shut the hell up!'
The Rain in Spain
After completing their Roadblock task, teams are instructed to fly to Barcelona, Spain. All the teams manage to score seats on the same flight.
Garden Maze
Once in Barcelona, teams are directed to a park that has a huge labyrinth made of foliage and shrubbery. Teams must make their way through the maze to locate the clue marker.
Thinking Ahead
Dustin/Kandice, while waiting for the park to open, think ahead and ask some locals to call a taxi to pick them up after they've located the clue. Rob/Kimberly follow suit, which proves to be helpful because Tyler/James and Lyn/Karlyn, have some trouble finding a taxi at the park.
Giants or Tomatoes?
The Detour require teams to either carry, on their shoulders, a large doll placed on stilts, so that they look like giants, or find the route clue hidden within a large mound of tomatoes while locals pelt them with tomatoes. Rob/Kimberly and Lyn/Karlyn opt for the tomatoes task, while Tyler/James and Dustin/Kandice opt for the 'giant' task.
Revenge of the Killer Tomatoes
Kimberly freaks out as the locals pelt her mercilessly with tomatoes, and finally quits. Rob yells at her that by quitting, she just blew it for them, and this somehow is enough to convince her to complete the task. Shortly thereafter they find the clue. Lyn/Karlyn also fight during the task, and also manage to find the clue. Once both teams are safely en route to the pit stop, it's apologies all around. Boy, getting assaulted by ripe tomatoes sure made these teams cranky!
Lost, with Your Head up a Giant Woman's Dress
Both Tyler/James and Dustin/Kandice struggle to find the given destination to complete their Detour task, and spend what seems like quite a bit of time wandering around the streets of Barcelona with the giant dolls atop their shoulders.
First of the Final Three
Rob/Kimberly finish the leg in first place, and win a trip for two to Barbados.
Sealing Their Fates
Dustin/Kandice do not finish this leg first, which meant that they would incur a 30-minute penalty, as per the 'marked for elimination' rules. But they really seal their fates when they are unable to pull ahead of Tyler/James as both teams scramble to locate the pit stop. Tyler/James beat them to the pit stop mat, coming in third and with Lyn/Karlyn coming in second, Dustin/Kandice are eliminated, making any time penalties irrelevant.
The Irony!
Dustin/Kandice had made a big deal throughout the race about wanting to be the first all-female team to win it all. It is ironic then that their rivals, Lyn/Karlyn, became the first ever all-female team to make it to the final three, and now have a real chance to actually be the first all female team to win the race.
