Honey, Honey
This week's task required the teams to harvest and sell honey for Sue Bee Honey. The team that makes the most money wins. Yep, it's as simple as that.
Bee-Cam!
A few of the wannabes freaked at the prospect of having to harvest the honey, and we get treated to their 'terrifying' view of the bee nests. Except it wasn't so much terrifying, as amusing. And contrary to Trump's assertions, the bees were not 'killer bees.'
In English Please!
Surya went off on yet another long, rambling, jargon-laden lecture on how to best market the honey. We didn't really understand it and only caught words like 'versatility' and 'RTB' and from the looks of his Arrow teammates, they didn't seem to understand it either. James summed it up best when he said he just wanted Surya to explain things in plain, simple English and then in a funny segue, we see James responding to Surya saying 'revenue maximization' with a snarky, 'you mean make money?'
Stumbling Right Out of the Gate
Aimee, the Chicago, IL territory manager, became Kinetic's new PM and she stumbled early as she and Jenn were unable to decide on what to call their honey. . .even after 4 hours of talking and brainstorming. The rest of the team was busy harvesting the honey and weren't thrilled when they returned and found out that basically nothing had been accomplished on the branding front.
MIA Trumps
Once again, there was no sign of any Trump offspring this episode and Sean was left to handle a lot as Trump spent the better part of the episode on a business trip to Minnesota.
Something in Common
Aaron and Aimee, the PMs, appeared to share the same 'laissez-faire' leadership style, much to their teammates' consternation. They were both shown standing around, trying to figure out what to do. A lot.
Free Samples or an Olympic Medalist?
Arrow's strategy was to have sales station giving out free samples as well as sending Nicole and Tim into the field to try to bulk sell the honey to bakeries and other places. Kinetic's strategy was to have Derek don a beekeeper's suit and to have Angela, the Olympic gold medalist (in ice hockey) man a table and sell the honey, with the tagline, 'your only chance to buy honey harvested by an Olympic gold medalist.'
That Didn't Last Long
Arrow's victory was short-lived, as was their stay inside the mansion, as Kinetic defeated them again, outselling them by approximately 70 dollars.
Go Lakers!
Kinetic's reward was to play a pick-up basketball game at the Lakers' training facility with former Lakers like James Worthy and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. They also got to meet Coach Phil Jackson.
Old Alliances
Surya sensed that his new team doesn't quite like him (we think it's because no one can really understand what he's saying) and he turned to his former teammates, asking Aimee, to help him out in the Boardroom.
Irony That Hurts
In the boardroom, in response to a few people saying that Surya should be fired, Trump said that 'when you're winning, everybody loves everybody but the minute you lose, you're looking for someone to blame.' Hmmm. Isn't that the whole premise of this show? Doesn't Trump encourage, indeed require, just that in the Boardroom? Does Trump even listen to himself anymore or does he tune himself out like a lot of us do nowadays?
Burning Bridges
Aimee was true to her word and was aggressive towards Arrow in the Boardroom when they tried to blame Surya. Trump didn't seem to like her 'hard-ass' approach any more than Aaron's laidback one. Frankly, we think Aimee might have burned some bridges and if she loses next week, she better be prepared to face not only her own teammates (who weren't that enamored of her leadership skills this week and would have hung her out to dry had they lost) but Arrow's winning PM as well. (Unless Arrow's PM is Surya, in which case, she should just be prepared to figure out what's he's saying.)
