In the limo after judging, the girls discuss the competition. Claire gives Aimee a compliment on her flawless skin, which everyone else also notices. The judges noticed it too. Lauren interviews that she has an issue with confidence when she gets in front of the panel. Back at the house, Claire speaks with her husband on the phone, telling him she misses him and their adorable daughter, especially since she is no longer able to breastfeed. She finds out the baby is cutting more teeth. She hopes one day her daughter realizes the sacrifice she made being in the competition.
MORE DOMINIQUE DRAMA
It’s early. Dominique’s alarm clock goes off about four times between 6 and 7 a.m. Claire complains that she has been up an hour earlier than need be because of this, but Dominique doesn’t care. Her excuse is the clock has more than one setting on it and she isn’t quite sure which one is correct. Claire wants her to fix it, but Dominique doesn’t actually sit up and invest in the argument until Claire calls her a bitch. Personally, I would have stomped on her clock with my stilettos. We learned in Cycle 7 with Bree and Amanda that ANTM doesn’t do anything if you touch other people’s things. Even Anya tells Dominique her clock goes off way too early and annoys people. Dominique stops addressing the clock issued, and her tunnel vision keeps her on being called a bitch. She does not fix the clock. Instead, she interviews that she did not like the way Claire disrespected her, and even though the clock goes off early, she could have handled it better. To make sure we know that she’s the mature one, Aimee tells Dominique that she didn’t hear the clock at all. Who cares? And how does that make her mature? Anyways, Dominique tells Claire that if she hadn’t called her a bitch she would have let her look at the clock settings and fix the problem. Now it’s not even a remote possibility. Dominique drags Claire’s husband into the conversation. Poor little quiet Lauren has had enough and erupts, asking Dominique to just fix the damn clock and not make it such a big deal. She yells to Dominique that she has communication problems and she’s crazy. Dominique yells back at Lauren, Whitney comes to Lauren’s defense, and Dominique actually cries in the secret room on the phone to her mother that those three are ganging up on her. Does this chick take responsibility for anything she does? Ever?
TYRA MAIL #1
“You ladies are sick, but I’ll help you get better.” They arrive by limo at a dance studio. Lauren can only hope it’s not a dance lesson, since she has no rhythm. Tyra walks in, and they scream like they’ve never seen her before. Tyra says they need to work on their walks, including the 3-minute hold at the end of the runway. As she does every season, Tyra fakes an injury. She shows them poses they can do with pain. Models don’t get a day off. Headaches, sprained ankles, chest pains, cramps, no excuses. A model must pose. I was waiting for her to show them how to fall and get up and keep going, but she never did. Instead they did a pose-off. Anya, Whitney and Katarzyna impressed Tyra the most. Lauren, the least. Once the girls get back home, they get a message from Tyra that their posing session was actually a challenge, and Anya won. Her prize is a private photo shoot with Nigel Barker. Anya arrives for her shoot and finds out she’ll be naked on a bed so that her pictures will be “timeless” in her portfolio. Seems that clothes can “date” the pictures. Anya is totally comfortable with nudity though, and has a great time. Aimee once again reminds us that her Mormon upbringing would have interfered with her posing nude. Ladies, if you are going to audition for America’s Next Top Model, please be aware of two things: (1) you will probably be asked to take off your clothes in situations over than the shower, (2) your hair will look drastically different than you are used to, (3) you will work with people that are homosexual, and (4) you need to shave. Please write that down so that none of these is a shock and you don’t have to cry about it.
WAKE ME UP, WILL YA?
That night, Dominique is supposedly suffering from a migraine. Having a conflict with everyone in the house can do that to you. She is in bed, next to her alarm clock no doubt. Claire, Whitney and Lauren sit on the couch on the other side of the room. Claire tells Whitney about her argument with Dominique earlier that morning. Dominique overhears and asks them to move into another room so she can sleep. Did this chick just say someone is interrupting her sleep? She then interviews that they are Monkey one, two and three, and says they should talk about her somewhere else. Claire tells her she’ll talk about her right in her face and they don’t move. Dominique realizes they aren’t leaving, and says she’s going to keep it cool. She goes back to sleep. Personally, I think she realized that Claire is time enough for her, so some common sense clicked in before the three “Monkeys” could open up a can of you know what.
