'America's Next Top Model' Recap: Elina is Eliminated

Episode Air Date: November 5, 2008

From

With Sheena gone, five girls remain: Elina, Annaleigh, McKey, Sam and Marjorie, who is still paranoid.

It’s time for the Go-See’s. They have to see five designers, and they each have a boat, a map, and they are on their own until 5:p.m. Sam walks into her first studio and the designer wasn’t interested, said she was too commercial. McKey’s designer loved her face. Marjorie was lost and confused. Annaleigh makes it to her first effort, and the guy loved her. Elina showed up sweaty, and the designer wasn’t impressed. He said she is playing a model, but isn’t one. Ouch. Marjorie never did find the first designer so she got back in her boat and cried on the way to the second studio. She finally finds a go-see, and is so nervous she doesn’t impress. Elina is next in the same studio, and is immediately dismissed because of her tattoos. After two go-sees, Marjorie heads on in so she won’t be late. McKey, with the best response from the designers, is disqualified for being late. The winner is Annaleigh, and she gets prizes back at the house from each designer. When they get back, Elina and McKey are seriously hating on her for winning.

A Tyra Mail arrives about exposure, and while everyone tries to figure it out, Marjorie continues to doubt herself. I swear this girl is draining me. They arrive at a studio to find Jay Manual and Tyra. Tyra says they will be photographed two ways, before and after. Meaning made up and natural. And now Marjorie is nervous because Tyra is taking the pictures. Tyra was most impressed with McKey. Again, Elina was the disappointment.

JUDGING

The girls get their critiques from Tyra and the game. Thankfully, J. Manuel is one of this week’s judges. Tyra finds out that Elina is only 18 (…looking much older…) and makes her take out her hair and shake it in an effort to loosen her up. McKey would have won the go-see had she not been late, which is kind of a slap in Annaleigh’s face. But at least Annaleigh got the goods. As expected (..and as I had hoped) Elina and Marjorie stand in the bottom two. Elina is eliminated, with Marjorie being told to get some confidence. If previews from next week are any indication, Marjorie will be loosening up in Amsterdam indeed.
